*LAUREL WEDDING FILMS*

I’m drawn to the colorful, the sweet, and the quietly hilarious. With roots in music video direction, my approach to wedding filmmaking is untraditional. I shoot fully on Super 8mm film and find magic in the unexpected, forever favoring personality over perfection.

For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of documenting celebrations around the world. On a wedding day, I show up as part observer, part wedding guest. I’m most interested in the in-between moments: twirling flower girls, a hand squeeze, a lost shoe… My process is intuitive and collaborative, guided by the unique energy each couple brings. To keep my work creatively inspired and soulfully personal, I take on a small number of weddings each year.

“Wedding videos typically make us cringe. Slow-mo and listening to our own voices was our idea of hell.

Thank you for capturing a very special day in a way that felt intentional, timeless, and straight up fcking magical.”

SUPER 8 MENTORSHIPS

A girl wearing a yellow dress is holding a bouquet of small yellow flowers wrapped in white floral paper.
A yellow table with two glasses of white wine, a floral garland, and a stone wall with greenery above, in an outdoor setting.

Absolutely hands down the best investment I could make in my Super 8 journey was a mentorship with Laurel... I have done many courses, researched many hours through YouTube and been doing Super 8 for a few years, and I learned more in this mentorship than I have in all of those things combined. Such a great experience; I highly recommend!!!

FAQs

WHAT are super 8 films?

1

Super 8mm is a film format from the 1960s. I love this medium; it captures how memories feel in a way like no other. Shooting on real film is also a uniquely meditative and present process that I've found lends itself so perfectly to a wedding day.

WHAT IF I'M CAMERA SHY?

2

If you're a little camera shy, you've come to the right studio... I guarantee that it will be okay and (going out on a limb here) extremely awesome. My candid style is all about the real, in-between moments and capturing them in an artistic yet unobtrusive way. Basically I want you to enjoy your wedding exactly how you want to (because that's the magic), and i'll be there with my vintage cameras to witness it all with you, beautifully.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?

3

Typically couples book about a year out. Please note that I take on only 10-12 weddings each season. This allows me to provide each one of my couples with my full attention.

I love the super 8 films, but I'm also wanting digital capture of my ceremony and toasts... is this an option?

4

For sure! A simple digital Ceremony Film and Toasts Film capture are available.

Do you travel?

5

Yes. I'm based in Boulder, Colorado and travel for weddings most of the time, both domestically and internationally. Scope my upcoming destinations above. Have a place in mind that's not on the list? Inquire for a travel quote.

YOU BRING THE PARTY, I’LL BRING THE CAMERA

keeping it real

I don't believe in 'smiling for the camera’… Where's the magic in that? Your wedding is a time to feel completely present and wonderfully yourselves. It's going to be beautiful, emotional, and pretty wild - that's the stuff worth remembering.

All are wecome here

I strongly support the equal right to love and dignity for all sexes, races, religions, orientations, abilities, and identities. If you feel otherwise, we’re likely not the right fit.
